Product Description

JVCC SLPT20 Designer Packaging Tape offers custom designs or patterns printed on standard polypropylene (BOPP) film carton sealing tape. This tape is great for projects such as crafting, hooping, fashion and others; but is also exceptional at basic box and carton sealing or for just grabbing attention. The 'Color Bars' and 'Dashed-Line Road' versions are printed on colored film and are coated with an acrylic adhesive. All the other tapes are printed on clear or white film and are coated with a hot melt rubber adhesive. Please note there is an 8-1/2 inch gap between the scissor repeats on the 'Scissor Cut' pattern. Also, these designs are printed on standard packaging tape and will leave ink and adhesive residue behind if adhered to a floor, table or tile even for a short period of time. If using the 'Dashed-Line Road' pattern for Matchbox® cars or LEGO® cars on a surface you want to later remove it from please test it out first on an inconspicuous part of the surface and leave it on a few days to make sure you can remove it with adhesive cleaner and a strong bristle brush first as desired.

Country of Origin: United States.

QUESTION: Do you do custom printed tape?
ANSWER: We have a printer we work with that can do custom-printed packaging tape. The print legend height is approximately 1-5/8" for 2" wide tapes and 2-5/8" for 3" wide tapes. The legend length is an approximately a 10-1/2" pattern - with usually a 1/2"-3/4" space between legends (if the legend is less than 10-1/2" extra space will result). You can choose from 4 carrier/backing types and then once choose carrier other choices needed to determine quote: standard polypropylene film 2.0 mil (acrylic or hot melt adhesive); 2.4 mil (hot melt adhesive), 2.6 mil (acrylic adhesive); or 3.2 mil (acrylic adhesive) You can get the tape in 2 inch (48mm) or 3 inch (72mm) widths and in 55 yard or 110 yard lengths. You can also get alternative widths and longer lengths in some thickness options. 72 rolls come in a case of 2 x 55, 36 in a case of 2 x 110, 48 in a case of 3 x 55 and 24 in a case of 3 x 110. The BOPP film color is typically either white or clear and you can choose from 17 stock ink colors (PMS colors are extra) for the legend. The 17 stock colors are white, gray/5, black, red/186, orange/021, yellow/102, green/347, limegreen/368, reflex blue, process blue, teal/321, navy/281, pantone purple, pantone violet, maroon/201, brown/469 and gold/132. UPVC film - 2.2 mil (natural rubber adhesive) You can get the tape in 2 inch (48mm) or 3 inch (72mm) widths and in 55 yard or 110 yard lengths. 72 rolls come in a case of 2 x 55, 36 in a case of 2 x 110, 48 in a case of 3 x 55 and 24 in a case of 3 x 110. The UPVC film color is either white, tan or clear and you can choose from 17 stock ink colors (PMS colors are extra) for the legend. The 17 stock colors are white, gray/5, black, red/186, orange/021, yellow/102, green/347, limegreen/368, reflex blue, process blue, teal/321, navy/281, pantone purple, pantone violet, maroon/201, brown/469 and gold/132. flatback paper - 5.8 mil (rubber adhesive) water-activated gummed light duty gummed-side out, non-reinforced, reinforced, heavy duty reinforced There is a $95.00 one-time plate charge for the 1st color and $40.00 for additional ink plates. It typically takes 3 to 4 weeks to ship after the proof is signed off on. Also, please note that custom printed tapes are non-cancelable and non-returnable. Thank you.

User Reviews

Made in the USA
hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
The cut level indicates how many grams of cutting load a glove can withstand from a sharp blade before being penetrated.
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
