Product Description

Kinesio Canine Kinesiology Tape For Dogs is used to treat canines, specifically for dogs a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological, and other medical conditions. The tape is made from 100% high-grade cotton that allows comfort and breathability. Also, the tape's adhesive is 100% medical grade and is heat activated. This tape does not contain medicine and all dyes are hypoallergenic. Features of the tape include: lightweight, breathable, allows full range of motion and it can be left on 24 days a day for up to 5 days.

Kinesio's K9 Tape features a follicular stimuli technology. The hair follicles of dogs often have several hairs growing out of one follicle. Kinesio's tape for canines works with a dog's hair follicles to stimulate the deeper tissue layers, creating more space to help lymphatic fluids to flow more freely which aids in healing and helps reduce swelling.

Kinesio Canine tape for dogs, differs from all other Kinesio tapes, including Kinesio Equine tape, in the unique and patent pending adhesive pattern design, that specifically addresses the nature and wide variety of canine hair/fur. It is designed to maximize the follicle stimulation by which taping therapy provides optimum relief and healing to dogs and to stay on the fur longer.

WARNING: KINESIO TAPING IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR VETERINARY CARE. Clean and dry hair prior to application. Kinesio Tape Not suitable for your dog when an infection is present, the skin is irritated, open wounds or dog shows tape sensitivity. Country of Origin: United States.

Application Instructions

The following are examples of canine applications developed by Kinesio.

Foreleg Elbow Damage Application
  1. Put the base of the tape outside the elbow joint.
  2. Put the tape at 20% tension towards with the front leg feet dorsal area.
  3. Place the second piece of tape in the center so as to cover the affected area with 70% tension (*make sure that both sides except the center are rubbed in place firmly with no tension).
Patellar Dislocation Application
  1. Put the base of the Y-shaped tape on the front of the upper thigh. Pull back hind legs and put on tape up to the top of the knee joint with 20% tension.
  2. With the knees bent, apply one end of the outside of the Y-shaped tape with 20% tension so as to wrap the patella. With the knees bent, apply other end of the inside of the Y-shaped tape with a 20% tension so as to wrap the patella.
  3. Put the base of the second Y-shaped tape on the back of the knee. One end of the upper side of the second Y-shaped tape passes through the upper part of the knee joint and is put inward with a 20% tension. The other end on the lower side passes through the lower side of the knee joint and is placed inwardly with 20% tension.
* Multiple cases may be shipped per package in order to minimize the charge for shipping.

Corky Saver
Kinesio Canine Canine Kinesiology Tape for Dogs
Corky is a a 10yr old 103lb chocolate lab. He has hip dysplasia with arthritis. He's rated 6-7 out of 10 for the severity of his hips. His favorite thing is the daily walk. This tape has given him his walks back. I'm very pleased with how well it adheres to the hair. Corky also swims and even after swimming and walking wet, the tape stays in place. He gets excited when I get the tape out as he knows he's going for his walk and he patiently lets me put it on and then he's on the go. My husband noted that it seems to give him more confidence.
Made in the USA
hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
The cut level indicates how many grams of cutting load a glove can withstand from a sharp blade before being penetrated.
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
