Mueller Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pads are wafer-thin cold and hot therapy pads that expand in water for long-lasting heat or cold therapy. These are reusable pads that can conform to any body part. The therapy pads can be trimmed to size to accommodate the exact area being treated eliminating the need to stock multiple sizes of gel bags. They’re 16-inch x 28-inch sized, lightweight and easy to store pads.
INSTRUCTIONS: Remove and discard protective plastic bag. Return the Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pads roll into the dispenser box. Remove the perforated slot on top of the box and feed the roll end through the slot. Pull the sheet out of the dispensing box and cut to any size using a scissors or knife. Cuts should be made near the center of sealed cell edges. Do not cut into the cells. Soak in water until cells are fully expanded (5-10 minutes). Freeze or heat the pad prior to use.
CAUTION: Never place cold or hot therapy pads in direct contact with skin. If cold or hot therapy pads become uncomfortable, apply additional insulation between skin and pads. If the condition persists, consult your physician. Used therapy pads should not be shared with others. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Place water-soaked Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pads in freezer 0 to 10°F (-18° to -12°C) with the plastic side down until frozen. When ready to use, remove frozen Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pods and place a wrap, towel or other thermal barrier between the frozen pad and skin. Secure Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pads in place with tape, elastic bandage or plastic wrap if necessary. Apply for 15-20 minutes. Repeat every 1 or 1 1/2 hours as necessary, or as directed by a health professional. Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pads can be stored in a freezer, refrigerator or cooler.
Heat Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pads in 1) a hydrocollator, 2) hot water 140°F to 160°F (60°C to 70°C) or 3) place in microwave and heat in 30 second increments to desired temperature. Do not place in boiling water or heat to boiling in microwave. Place a wrap, towel or other thermal barrier between the heated pad and skin to avoid burns. Secure Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pads in place with tape, elastic bandage or plastic wrap
if necessary. Apply for 15-20 minutes. Repeat every 1 to 1 1/2 hours as necessary, or as directed by a health professional. Never store Flexible Cold/Hot Therapy Pads in hydrocollator.

hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
