Product Description

JVCC V-36 Colored Vinyl Tape is a durable tape used for marking floors/lanes, color coding, decorating, temporary striping on vehicles and boats, and to identify restricted or hazardous areas. Used extensively on school gym floors all kinds. Helps with safety coding to meet OSHA requirements. Can also be used for masking of hard chrome plating and anodizing, harness and pipe wrapping, and duct and joint sealing. JVCC V-36 Vinyl Tape is also known as Dance Floor Tape, Marley Tape, or Splice Tape. This tape is available in 13 OSHA colors: yellow, white, black, clear, red, orange, light blue, dark blue, gray, purple, emerald green, kelly green & dark brown.

Features include:

  • "Write-on" capability.
  • Highly conformable and good abrasion/impact resistance.
  • Provides vapor/moisture barrier.
  • Resistant to aging, sun, water, fungus, acids/chemicals.
  • No corrosion to copper, brass, steel, or aluminum.

QUESTION: I'm looking for video tape splicing tape.
ANSWER: We really do not offer a tape made specifically for A/V splicing; however Scapa 571 (see https://www.findtape.com/p224/) is an extremely thin splicing tape which may work for you. You could also try a site that specializes in A/V products like http://www.markertek.com/; I believe they offer VHS splice tabs made for that purpose. I hope this helps. Thank you.

QUESTION: I am looking for a tape that we can use on a gym floor for marking lines but only for a few hours at a time leaving no residue or damage at all to the floor
ANSWER: The only product we sold that would not pull up gym floor finish was Shurtape PE-100 (see https://www.findtape.com/p672/); however, Shurtape discontinued that product and no stock currently remains, unfortunately. JVCC V-36 (see https://www.findtape.com/p140/?tid=30) is the least adhesive vinyl product we sell and would be the one designed to remove the cleanest; however, if the finish/wax has recently been applied it could pull up some, unlike the PE-100 which was designed not to. If want to last longer and not concerned with pulling up floor finish a gaffers tape such as Polyken 510 would be a longer lasting option. Always best to test first on an inconspicuous part of the floor to see if removes as desired. Thank you.

QUESTION: hello. I am looking for a Purple Tape that I can use as a border on an vinyl whiteboard. I had looked at JVCC v-36 vinyl tape
ANSWER: Yes, JVCC’s V-36 product is a low adhesive tape that removes cleanly from most surfaces (only 18 ounces per inch of peel adhesion). Would be a good choice for a temporary whiteboard border.

Good value and quality
JVCC V-36 Colored Vinyl Tape
Performs as discribed. Has good elasticity, and holds up outdoors, even in the rain. The red is a bit transparent, so if trying to cover something dark, it might take a couple of layers to get a true red shade. Other then that, good general purpose tape. I will order again.

hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
The cut level indicates how many grams of cutting load a glove can withstand from a sharp blade before being penetrated.
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
