Product Description
JVCC ATG-7502 ATG Tape, like all ATG tapes, is reverse wound on the roll so it is designed to be used in an ATG dispenser/gun. Please see below for a matrix of which sizes of this tape fit into which ATG dispensers (not for use in all ATG dispensers)
JVCC ATG-7502 ATG Tape is a permanent unsupported acrylic adhesive transfer film (pressure-sensitive adhesive pre-applied to a special release liner). It is used for picture framing, scrapbooking, product assembly, and for design and packaging prototypes. Has good adhesion to paper, most plastic films, and metal foils. The manufacturer states this transfer tape is acid-neutral based on lab tests; however, there is no standardized test for pH for materials not soluble in water and this transfer tape is not soluble in water. Other features include:
- Glass stabilized solvent-based acrylic adhesive.
- On a 50# gold paper liner.
- Mounted on cores designed especially for use in tape dispensers (tape dispensing system allows for quick, clean, and easy application).

QUESTION: Does this one have adhesive on both sides?
ANSWER: Reverse-wound ATG transfer tapes have a strip of glue applied to a release liner. That is why they require the use of an ATG dispenser to apply them. The ATG dispenser automatically removes the release liner from the tape - it is basically like laying down glue in one even strip. A traditional double-sided tape would have glue applied to both sides of a backing or carrier like film or paper. Thank you.

QUESTION: I have a really old scotch ATG 752 dispenser. Will the ATG 7502 tape refills in the 1/4" x 36 yards size work?
ANSWER: We've never sold that dispenser, but I believe it is similar to the 3M 700 dispenser so you can use the 3M 700A adapter for 1/4" rolls like 3M 908, 924 and 969 as well as JVCC ATG-7502 1/4" on the special core. Thank you.

Awesome stuff at the right price. I use in a tape runner for cardmaking. (I think the person below who called it cheap junk probably didn't realize it was ATG tape and tried to use it as regular clear tape. Used that way, it would fall apart and seem useless.)

I make a lot of stationery, including my own envelopes. I use this rather than glue -- it's fabulous. I do not use the tape dispenser, I just tape it along the edge, cut it with scissors, then when I'm ready to use the envelope I just peel of the backing!

This stuff is absolutely indispensable for mounting photos to mat board and for creating double mats. I've used various other double-backed tapes and the like and they all fall short. This ATG tape does the job. It does take a bit of getting used to, especially using a dispenser. I managed to waste quite a bit at first (glad it's so cheap), but now I'm pretty much a pro at it.

I have been using this tape for over a year the first six 1/2" rolls I bought lasted that long and I use it almost every other day for my card making business. The tape is strong and bonds well. Sometimes it does not roll on evenly and rolls over on itself, but not enough to make me stop buying it. The value is extreme. When I first got it it took me a little while to get used to pressing the trigger to make the glue roll out but now it's second nature. NOT too bulky either.

I seem to go through a lot of tape on my projects and felt I was spending too much money on the snail tape runner and refills I was using. My friend let me borrow her ATG gun and I was hooked, especially when I did the research to find out that the gun and refills was a better investment. The same friend referred me to this site and I am so pleased that she did. The tape adheres well and is permanent right away, so it can be a little unforgiving so you need to be confident in your placement of things, but I don't mind that it holds so well. And since its acid free I can also use it to adhere my pictures.
hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
