Product Description
FindTape 1/8 in. Double-Sided Window Glazing Tape is a double-sided PE foam tape which is designed specifically for window glazing and is American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) certified. Glazing tape is typically used during the installation process to prevent wind and water from entering by creating the inside seal between the insulated glass panel and the window sash/box. Other uses include mounting of emblems, nameplates, plastic strips and mirrors.
The foam used for FindTape 1/8 in. Double-Sided Window Glazing Tape is a high performance closed cell cross-linked polyethylene which is coated on both sides with a high-performance solvent-based acrylic adhesive. The adhesive system is formulated to bond with glass, wood, and aluminum substrates with quick stick, high peel adhesion, and very good strength.
FindTape 1/8 in. Double-Sided Window Glazing Tape has outstanding resistance to weather needed for outdoor applications. It has a superior seal against dust and moisture due to its flexible, soft foam. The easy-peel poly liner allows for continuous and complete liner removal during window glazing applications (creating the seal between the insulated glass panel and window sash which helps prevent air and water leakage). Glazing tape is a cleaner and more convenient option over glazing putty and other messy or more difficult to apply products. Country of Origin: Italy.
Instructions
- Clean debris from the surface with a clean, damp rag. The surface should be completely dry before proceeding with applying the tape.
- Without over-stretching the tape, apply the adhesive side to the surface.
- Use a weighted roller to ensure the bond from the tape to the surface and cut as needed, leaving a minimal gap. Make sure not to stretch the glazing tape around corners which can result in thinning on the outside and may create a bulge on the inside. Avoid overlapping the foam tape as it will not compress enough to avoid gaps.
- For small gaps, use a silicone or other sealant that will work with the FindTape DC-WGT-01 Window Glazing Tape product.
- Pull back a short length of the liner to create a tab.
- Center and install glass
- Remove the liner by the tabs and press the glass into the foam tape.
- Allow 24 to 72 hours for full adhesion strength.
- Make sure to store tape at room temperature and apply on a not-cold surface.

QUESTION: Should I use this when i replace the fixed glass section on a single hung window?
ANSWER: I used this tape to "re-attach" glass panels on an antique cabinet door. It worked good for that project but I don't think that it would be a sufficient repair for a window that would experience heat, cold, and moisture. I would contact the company and ask them.

EXCELENT
FindTape DC-WGT-01-08 DC-WGT-01 Double-Sided Window Glazing Tape [Closed Cell, 1/8 inch thick]
I am a crafter and i use this to make cards and scrapbook pages and it works great and a verryer value than retail stores
hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
