Product Description
JVCC SCF-01 3/4 in. Low-Density Single-Sided PVC Foam Tape is an economical, closed-cell, general-purpose foam tape coated on one side with a high-performance acrylic adhesive. The adhesive on this single-sided foam product is on the exposed side of the tape when you unwind it from the roll; the release liner is pulled away from the non-adhesive side of the tape. A good combination of flexibility and conformability with strength and wear resistance. Also has excellent weatherability and chemical resistance. Used in applications requiring positive seals on irregular surfaces or when flexibility and conformability to seal tight radius curves are critical considerations.
JVCC SCF-01 Foam Tape is used extensively in the automotive, HVAC and construction industries to provide air & weather-tight seals; for gasketing, cushioning, vibration control in speakers, vehicles, electronic components and door frames. Also for filling and sealing gaps around windows, doors, and car/SUV tops for better insulation. It is a clean, waste-free substitute for liquid sealants. Please make note that this a closed-cell foam product is not soft like an open-cell foam product would be. It also complies with European RoHS directive 2002/95/BC.
NOTE: SCF-01 tape can be special ordered in thicknesses ranging from 1/16" to 3/4" and in widths ranging from 3/16" to 54". It can also be ordered in gray, instead of black, if ordering by the case. Please use the contact us page to inquire whether a particular thickness/width combination not shown below is available and what the minimum order requirement would be for that size. Nominal Tape Widths vs Actual Widths
Tape rolls are cut to standard tape industry metric widths of approx. 24mm per 1-inch of nominal width ordered. As a result ACTUAL tape widths are normally 5% narrower than the NOMINAL width shown in inches. Examples:
- 1" Nominal width = 15/16" (24mm) Actual width
- 2" Nominal width = 1-7/8" (48mm) Actual width
- 3" Nominal width = 2-13/16" (72mm) Actual width

QUESTION: I have order this foam tape to seal ceiling tiles for a clean room. my question is this product rated for cleanroom use?
ANSWER: No, JVCC's SCF-01 tape comes on a cardboard core and is bulk-packed, not individually sealed, so would not be suitable for clean room use.

stopped wind noise

Extended cab pick-up door seal weather strip around both doors apparently shrank in time, I needed about 1/8" foam tape behind it to make a tight seal again. Worked great and stopped the wind noise. Easy fix.

Quality Foam Seal Tape

This was my 1st time trying the JVCC SCF-01 Single Coated PVC Foam Tape. I really like the product. The adhesive on here is excellent. Very sticky! The foam is nice and soft so it's easy to get a good seal and it also sticks to itself very well too. I'd have given it a 5 star review but the tape I ordered was supposed to be 1/8" thick but it actually is much closer to .050" so I had to layer it to achieve my desired thickness. The foam also goes around corners well too. This is much better quality than what you find at the big box hardware stores. I'll order more again for future projects but will probably contact customer service first next time to confirm the actual thickness of the tape before ordering. Don't hesitate to purchase this for your project too. No problems with checkout and pretty fast shipping too!

hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
