History

• Founder Kevin Mahoney initially started FindTape.com as an opportunity to learn the Microsoft .NET platform. Eventually, his side project took on a life of its own, and he left his employer to become an entrepreneur, working full-time on the e-commerce site.
• Web site launched April 2004.
• Listed on Inc. Magazine's 500|5000 List of America's Fastest Growing Companies for four consecutive years (2011-2014).
• First retail store opened in April 2019 in North Brunswick, NJ; relocated in 2024 to a new location in Hamilton, NJ adjacent to the company's warehouse.
• March 2020: Founder Kevin Mahoney testified before the U.S. House Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access on the impact of South Dakota v. Wayfair on small online retailers.
