Product Description
3M Stamark Pavement Marking Tape is a durable, non-skid, retroreflective alternative to paint for designating stop bars, crosswalks, symbols, legends, lane lines, parking spaces, and bike lanes on the rough or inconsistent surfaces found on roadways and parking lots.
The tape consists of a slip-resistant polyurethane film reinforced with built-in netting and coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive. High-visibility glass beads embedded in the topcoat enhance reflectivity, greatly increasing conspicuity over traditional reflective paints for both human drivers and autonomous driving systems.
Features & Benefits
- Superior daytime color and high nighttime reflectivity for clear, durable markings.
- Built-in reinforced netting and skid-resistant polyurethane make it exceptionally heavy-duty.
- Pre-applied pressure-sensitive adhesive (non-linered "A" series) for easy application by hand.
- Open to traffic immediately after application, helping to minimize road closures.
- Pigments conform to standard highway colors for use on any roadway.
Common Uses
Ideal for asphalt, concrete, and pavement. Also useful for marking metal or concrete road barriers, telephone poles, streetlights, and other surfaces where conspicuity enhancement is needed.
Good to Know
This is the "A" series Stamark tape, meaning the pressure-sensitive adhesive is pre-applied and no liner is used. Available in white, yellow, or as a pre-formed handicap symbol. The glass beads and netting-reinforced backing give the tape a textured feel, so paint may be the better option where completely flat markings are required. Country of Origin: United States.
Application Instructions
- Confirm that air and surface temperatures are at least 40°F (4°C) and rising, with an overnight low at or above 40°F (4°C) the night before application.
- Clean the pavement with a broom and/or high-pressure air blower to remove dirt, dust, and loose aggregate. Do not apply to a sealed surface until the sealing emulsion has cured and loose aggregate is removed.
- If required, apply 3M surface preparation adhesive such as P-50 or SPA60. Use a 3M Adhesive Spray Applicator PS-14 for long-line work, or a solvent-resistant 3/8 inch nap paint roller for transverse markings.
- Position the tape on the marked area and press it into place by hand.
- Roll the full length of the tape with a hand roller or tamper cart to seat the adhesive and remove trapped air.
- Open the marked pavement to traffic immediately.
* Multiple cases may be shipped per package in order to minimize the charge for shipping.
