Product Description

FindTape FELT-06 Polyester Felt Tape, 1 millimeter thick, is synthetic needle punched felt made from polyester fibers. On one side, it is felt; on the other side, adhesive. This tape is most frequently used to join and temporarily repair curtains, fabric and cloth drapes used in backdrops and for other general use vibration dampening. There are many other kinds of uses as well. It's available in white, black or light gray, and in various widths from .5 to 12 inches. Choose from 15, 30 or 75-foot rolls. Made in the USA.

Application Tips

  • Most adhesive felt rolls will have a 2-inch to 4-inch leader of double-sided film tape applied to the release liner at the start of the roll.
  • We recommend that you cut a small piece of felt off at the beginning of the roll with scissors to start, or peel the double-sided film tape off release liner to begin applying the felt.
  • Try not to pull double-sided film tape off the felt backing.
  • It is sometimes easier to peel the corner of the felt away from release liner (instead of release liner away from felt). Otherwise, there's a danger of splitting the release liner.

QUESTION: Will this work on the bottom of wood chairs with 2x2 legs on a tile floor to help with gliding?
ANSWER: This tape would help with preventing wood furniture from scratching a floor; however to prevent sliding would probably go with a rubberized non-skid tape product such as Jessup 3500.

QUESTION: Will it prevent rubbing on my skin?
ANSWER: If you are using it for hiking and your skin is healthy (doesn't tear easily), its pretty typical to use tape to wrap rubbing areas. On top of that use mole skin to cushion and two pairs of socks to reduce friction. If your skin is sensitive you can try paper tape (medical) and mole skin.

QUESTION: Would you recommend that this felt tape be used for doors that stick to door frames?
ANSWER: Yes. This sticks to about anything. It blocks unwanted projector light quite well.

QUESTION: Is 1 mm the thinnest available?
ANSWER: Yes, the thinnest felt tape JVCC offers would the 1mm thick FELT-06 product.

QUESTION: I want to apply this to a window. What color is the back/sticky side? I need it to look black on both sides.
ANSWER: JVCC FELT-06 has a clear double-sided tape applied to the back side of the tape so the underside would look primarily black.

Awesome Product that saved me $$$$
FindTape FELT-06 Polyester Felt Tape [1mm thick]
I used this felt tape to fix my car panel. The soft edge that rubs against the window had rotted away from sun exposure and the window would not go down. I removed the door panel, cleaned it and added this felt tape. Window works great now and I saved myself over $500 for new door panels from the Honda dealer! Still have extra felt tape for another project, not sure what yet!!!

hot melt rubber (synthetic)
Offers the widest range of application flexibility available. Exhibits excellent processing performance whether manually or automatically applied. Has superior tensile strength, adhesion properties and holding force which ensures consistent, reliable seals. Hot melt adhesive will bond faster to a surface which is referred to as quick-grab or quick-stick. It typically has higher tack (will feel stickier to the touch), but is also softer. It has lower heat resistance, shear resistance, and sometimes UV resistance than an acrylic adhesive. NOTE: it is called hot melt because the adhesive is applied hot by the manufacturer and then hardens as it cools (you do not need to apply heat to the tape yourself).
natural rubber
Properties are similar to that of hot melt rubber, but natural rubber often holds where other adhesives won't (recycled fibers, dust, cold, heat and heavy loads). It provides good overall adhesion and moisture resistance.
acrylic
Offer excellent performance, especially for applications in temperatures less than 40°F and greater then 120°F. It provides excellent clarity, has high shear strength, is usually more permanent/durable even when exposed to moisture, and it ages well over extended periods in fluorescent and sunlight. Since it remains clear for the life of the application and does not yellow over time it is ideal for applications such as sealing white cartons. While it has good initial adhesion it does take 24-48 hours to cure and to achieve its maximum bond strength (has gradual adhesion buildup). Another difference between hot melt rubber and acrylic adhesive is if you fold tape over making the two adhesive sides touch the acrylic adhesive will remain attached to the carrier (e.g. paper, film) while a hot melt adhesive will stick to itself and pull off of the carrier. It is the best choice for clarity, UV resistance and aging characteristics.
silicone
Is great for extreme temperature applications since silicone adhesive can work in continuous operating temperatures from -100°F to 500°F. They also exhibit good chemical resistance, retain electrical properties, and remove cleanly with little or no residue.
zinc oxide
Zinc oxide based adhesive formula is a skin-friendly adhesive which is commonly used on sports medicine tapes.
Thickness, AKA caliper or gauge, refers to the distance from one surface of a tape backing, or adhesive, to the other.
1 mil = 1/1000 of an inch
Examples: 1/16 inch = 62.5 mils; 1/32 inch = 31.25 mils
The cut level indicates how many grams of cutting load a glove can withstand from a sharp blade before being penetrated.
Lower gauge gloves are heavier - have thicker construction, fewer stiches knitted per inch and offer less dexterity.
Higher gauge gloves are lighter - have thinner/finer construction, more stitches knitted per inch and offer more dexterity.
Gloves offered typically runs from 7 to 18 (12 and 13 are in the middle of the scale).
